At Nurture we believe a lack of positive role models within the Black American communities of drug and gang impacted families that Black men and women can identify with, a lack of positive life skills and abilities to set forth worthy goals, a lack in confidence of ones ability to attain the goals that they have set, and the lack for the mental health of troubled Black Americans can be diminished through the works of curriculum and presentation that these individuals themselves can fully identify themselves with.

At Nurture we believe that reprogramming the mind of individuals suffering from traumatic occurrences and by rebuilding in participants a can do belief system our services will begin to focus individuals on the abilities and skills towards change. Our belief at Nurture and through our own experiences suggest that accomplishing goals, a means of stable employment, reconnecting with family and building family rapport gives both a sense of belonging and confidence. This fueling an "I can do mentality"
